About Jennifer Houtman

Jennifer Houtman is a board-certified family medicine physician at Inspired Health & Wellness in Kalamazoo, Michigan.

A lifelong Kalamazoo native, she earned her undergraduate degree at Kalamazoo College, then went on to Michigan State University College of Human Medicine for medical school and the Kalamazoo Center for Medical Studies for her family medicine residency. She has been board certified since 2003, practicing both inpatient and outpatient family medicine, and she still teaches medical students and residents from Western Michigan University School of Medicine. Drawn to the variety family medicine offers, she opened her own practice so she could spend real time with patients, with particular interests in women's health, obesity medicine and functional medicine.

She is married to her high school sweetheart, Rob, and has three daughters who keep her busy. She enjoys being outdoors, camping, crafting and reading, and shares her home with a dog named Mia and two cats, Matilda and Maggie.
