John Gross

Dr. John Gross practices sports medicine and primary care at JAG Medical - Advanced Family Care & Sports Medicine in Saint Petersburg, Florida, and has been a well-established physician in the Tampa Bay area for more than 13 years.

He treats each patient as an individual, weighing lifestyle, history, age, environment, values, and outlook for a healthy future rather than applying one-size-fits-all care. Gross believes a strong doctor-patient relationship starts with trust, and his personalized style is a deliberate departure from the cookie-cutter medicine common in larger insurance-driven systems.

He serves as head team medical physician for the Tampa Bay Rays and currently holds the presidency of the Florida Academy of Family Physicians. Gross earned his medical degree from The Ohio State University College of Medicine, completed his family medicine residency and sports medicine fellowship at Bayfront Medical Center, and holds a bachelor's degree in biology and psychology from Washington University in St. Louis.
