Jane Klaes, DO

Jane Klaes is a family medicine physician who runs Jane Klaes DO PLLC in Ann Arbor, Michigan. After fifteen years in conventional medicine, she opened her own practice for a more personalized, creative approach to care, free of the usual insurance and government hassles.

A Michigan native who grew up in Plymouth and studied at the University of Michigan, she didn't pursue medicine until 29, graduating from Michigan State University's College of Osteopathic Medicine in 2004. Her family medicine residency was followed by years at a federally funded clinic in rural West Virginia, where she handled a wide range of care and came to love the hills and rivers, hiking, biking, kayaking and skiing in her off hours.

She eventually came home to Ann Arbor and spent years at Integrated Health Associates, helping build a program to improve physician-patient communication before opening her own doors. Back in her twenties, she'd started the Washtenaw County chapter of HERO, mentoring homeless adults after goal-setting classes taught in local shelters and prisons.
