John Shugrue, MD

Dr. JD Shugrue is a board-certified Family Medicine Physician born and raised in Alabama. He graduated from the University of South Alabama, attended medical school at UAB, and completed his residency in Tuscaloosa. After 10 years in traditional insurance-based healthcare systems, Dr. Shugrue transitioned to Direct Primary Care to provide accessible, "old school" personalized care—the kind where your doctor truly knows you and is available when you need care. Outside the office, Dr. Shugrue is a proud "girl dad" who enjoys movies, traveling, swimming, and visiting local farmers markets with his family.
