Karina Parilo, MD

Karina Parilo, MD, is a board certified family medicine physician at KAP Medical Group DPC and Family Medicine in Zephyrhills, Florida, and treats patients from newborns through geriatrics.

Dr. Parilo was born in Puerto Rico and grew up in Tampa, where she attended the Academy of the Holy Names before earning her biology degree at Duke University. She returned home for medical school at the University of South Florida College of Medicine, and initially trained in anesthesiology. She missed the long-term relationships she could build with patients, though, so she transferred to the University of Massachusetts Family Residency Program in Worcester to train in family medicine instead. After finishing her residency she came back to the Tampa area, where she spent seven years with a medical group in Wesley Chapel before going on to become board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine.

Dr. Parilo is happily married to Dane, and together they have a blended family of three children and two grandchildren. She is fluent in Spanish and enjoys reading, cooking, and traveling with her family.
