Karina Parilo, MD

Karina Azank Parilo was born in Puerto Rico but grew up in Tampa after moving here with her parents at the age of 3. She attended the Academy of the Holy Names and then completed her undergraduate degree in Biology at Duke University. She then returned to Tampa and received her MD from the University of South Florida College of Medicine. While she initially trained in Anesthesiology following her intern year at USF, she missed having long-term relationships with patients and transferred to the University of Massachusetts Family Residency Program in Worcester to pursue training in traditional Family Medicine. She completed her family medicine training and returned home where she worked for a medical group in Wesley Chapel for 7 years. She is board certified by the American Board of Family Medicine and provides comprehensive primary care to individuals and families of all ages from newborn to geriatrics. Dr. Parilo is happily married to Dane and they have a blended family consisting of three children and two grandchildren. She enjoys reading, cooking, traveling and spending time with her family. She is fluent in Spanish.
