Dr. Vera Oyabure was born and raised in Dallas, TX. She pursued a career in medicine to establish strong doctor-patient relationships, which she considers the backbone of primary care. She graduated from Baylor University (undergraduate), attended Saba University School of Medicine (medical school), and completed her Family Practice Residency at University of Tennessee Family Practice Residency Program. After completing her residency, she worked as a hospitalist managing complex and acute medical conditions before returning to primary care to focus on proactive patient wellbeing and reducing hospitalizations. She is married with two sons and enjoys cooking, basketball coaching, and mentoring. Hospital affiliations include Houston Methodist West Hospital, Memorial Hermann Katy Hospital, UTMB Health, and ACA Houston Healthcare. Professional associations include American Academy of Family Physicians (AAFP), Society of Hospital Medicine (SHM), Texas Medical Association (TMA), Houston Medical Forum (HMF), Institute of Functional Medicine (IFM), and American Academy of Private Physicians. She received the Houstonian Top Doctor 2018 award and serves on the Board of Directors of Fulshear Katy Area Chamber of Commerce.
