Michael Hobbs, MD

Dr. Michael Hobbs is a pediatrician at Lakes Pediatrics in St. Louis Park, Minnesota. Born in Texas but raised in Nebraska from infancy, he grew up watching a family doctor make house calls with just a stethoscope and a prescription pad, and that idea of simply being there when needed stayed with him. He studied anthropology at the University of Minnesota, Twin Cities, then went to Chicago for medical school, where he settled on pediatrics.

Minnesota pulled him back for residency at the University of Minnesota, and he has practiced in the Twin Cities for more than 20 years since. He also spent over a decade as a clinical instructor and adjunct professor at the University of Minnesota Medical School, and has been named a Top Doctor by both Mpls.St.Paul Magazine and Minnesota Monthly. Alongside that, he carries subspecialty training in infectious diseases, plus a mini-fellowship in patient-centered mental health care from The Reach Institute.

He has six children of his own, two grown and four still finding their way there.
