Dr. Ruchira Mehra is a board-certified family physician at LakeshoreMD in Grand Haven, Michigan. She grew up in southeast Michigan and studied at the University of Michigan-Ann Arbor, earning a bachelor's degree in engineering and a master's in public health before heading to Ireland for medical school at the National University of Ireland-University College Cork. She completed her family medicine residency at St. John Hospital and Medical Center in Detroit, and has been board-certified since 2008.
Her husband, an avid Great Lakes surfer, introduced her to Grand Haven in the early 1990s, and the two later chose the small lakeside community as the place to settle and raise a family. That same pull toward community shapes how she practices medicine now. She wanted more time with her patients, easier access to a physician, and real price transparency in care, and she sees Direct Primary Care as the model that restores the doctor-patient relationship and brings better, more continuous care to the town she calls home.
