Ben Aiken, MD, MSPH, DipABLM

Dr. Ben Aiken founded Lantern Health in the western North Carolina mountains. As a resident physician with a public health background, he was influenced by his paternal grandfather Bill, who was part of the first and much simpler, human-focused era of family medicine. Ben spent his elective time exploring new models of primary care nationally and developed expertise and passion for direct primary care. Lantern Health launched in 2018, initially part of the regional health system. In 2020, Ben transitioned the practice out of the system to be fully independent. The practice has a team of Family Medicine physicians and is actively recruiting an additional physician.
