Aaron Watters, MD

Aaron Watters is a family medicine physician at Liberty MD in Emporia, Kansas.

Born in Colby, a small town in western Kansas, he decided early to become a doctor, following the path his mother set as a director of nursing. He started at the hospital at sixteen, became an EMT at eighteen, and worked in respiratory therapy to put himself through college and medical school, coming to see medicine less as a job and more as a calling.

A trauma center residency in Houston was grueling, but it sharpened his dedication and taught him that patient care was his gift, and family medicine turned out to be the right fit. He spent about twenty years as a family doctor in Ark City, Kansas, serving as a hospital board member and Chief of Staff and helping build a new hospital there. For the last nine years he has worked as an emergency room physician, director, and hospitalist.
