James Tinsley, MD

James Tinsley is a physician at Lighthouse Direct Primary Care in Newport News, Virginia. He graduated from Eastern Virginia Medical School in 2000 and completed his residency through the Medical College of Virginia at Hanover Family Physicians in 2003, where he served as chief resident.

After years in conventional medicine, Tinsley grew frustrated watching patients get lost in a system that left them feeling disenfranchised rather than cared for. That experience led him to start Lighthouse DPC, built around the idea that direct primary care puts patients back in charge of their own health through genuine, attentive care rather than rushed visits and paperwork.
