Julie Rietze, MD

Julie Rietze is a family medicine physician and owner of Lilac Direct Primary Care in Spokane, Washington. She has spent more than seventeen years in the field, beginning her career in traditional insurance-based practice after completing her residency right there in Spokane in 2006.

Over those years she watched medicine drift away from the kind of relationship-based care that drew her to the profession in the first place, replaced by an increasingly corporate approach. That shift pushed her to look into the direct primary care model, and what she found convinced her to leave her employed position and build something different. Lilac DPC grew out of that decision, designed to practice medicine the way she always imagined it should be.
