Dr. Angela Hendrick has practiced family medicine in Wenatchee, Washington since 2010 at Lupine Family Medicine. Early in her career she delivered babies and cared for hospitalized patients, work she remembers as old school, full spectrum medicine.
Born in a mountain village in the Philippines with no indoor plumbing, electricity, or cars, she immigrated with her mother to a small town in Michigan at age twelve. Working three jobs, she earned a physiology degree at Michigan State University on a research scholarship, then spent four years there as a research assistant, co-authoring papers on a protein used to diagnose and treat conditions including hepatitis B and cancer. A four year National Health Service Scholarship later covered her medical degree at the same school.
Her adoptive father encouraged her to try Washington, and she stayed, completing her family medicine residency in Renton, falling for the state, and meeting her husband along the way. She speaks English, Spanish, Tagalog, and Cebuano.
