Dr. Arlene McCain is committed to partnering with individuals as they discern personal motivations for healthy change and passionately supports their inspired progress towards a thriving life. She is dedicated in creating safe spaces where health and healing can occur. It's only when we feel safe that we can touch the hurting places with love. It's only when we persevere in the hard work of re-integrating mind-heart-body-spirit that deep, lasting healing occurs. She earned graduate certification in Integrative Therapies & Healing Practices: Health Coaching Track, through the Center for Spirituality & Healing at the University of Minnesota, and was one of the first nationally board certified health and wellness coaches (NBC-HWC) in the nation. She earned a B.S. in Biology and Minor in Theology from Georgetown University. She received her medical degree (M.D.) from Eastern Virginia Medical School and completed residency at EVMS-Portsmouth Family Medicine, serving as Chief Resident from 2009-2010. She is author of the award-winning book 'Embrace Grace' and co-creator of the 'Physicians, Heal' and 'DPC Rocks' podcasts.
