Samantha Mekrut, MD

Dr. Samantha Mekrut, known to her patients as Dr. Sam, is the founder of Meristem Family Medicine in Medfield. She started the practice out of a deep belief that accessible, high-quality care depends on real relationships between doctor and patient, something she felt the traditional healthcare system too often crowded out with bureaucratic hurdles and rushed visits. Meristem was built to clear those barriers away so she can focus on giving patients the care they deserve.

Her background spans more than 18 years in medicine, including academic practice, leadership roles, college health, and obstetric, postpartum, and newborn care. Along the way she has worked in settings ranging from UPenn's faculty practice to federally qualified health centers, experience that shapes the range and depth of care she brings to her patients at Meristem.
