Dr. Ramón Diez-Barroso, MD

Dr. Ramón Diez-Barroso founded Merlin Direct Primary Care in San Antonio in 2025. The practice grew out of a simple belief that healthcare works better when it puts the patient first rather than the clock.

Diez-Barroso built Merlin DPC as an alternative to the rushed, high-volume visits that have become standard in much of primary care. The approach here treats each patient as an individual rather than applying a one-size-fits-all protocol, with appointments structured so there is actual time to talk through what is going on rather than rushing to the next name on the schedule.
