Rafael Huezo, MD

Dr. Huezo is a trusted and well-respected family physician that has been a leader since an early age. He was the valedictorian of his high school class, received the rank of Eagle Scout, and eventually became Drum Major for one of the top-ranked high school marching bands in California.

While an undergraduate student at the University of California Riverside, he became the president of one of the largest health organizations on campus and went on to be featured in multiple local newspapers and magazines.

During this time, he also met his soulmate and love of his life, Dr. Margarita Huezo who is a local Bakersfield optometrist.

Dr. Rafael Huezo completed his medical degree from the UCLA David Geffen School of Medicine in 2010.

While in medical school, he was awarded a highly competitive medical scholarship through the National Health Services Corp which paid for his four years of medical school.

As a condition for his scholarship, he was placed in Kern County in 2013 to continue his medical career.

As a young physician, he has been awarded multiple recognitions including "Rookie of the Year."

Most recently, Dr. Huezo served locally as the Chief Medical Officer for one of the largest, nationally recognized non-profit health organizations in the state.

As the founding owner of Mint Health Clinics Bakersfield, Dr. Huezo is excited to provide highly personalized healthcare to the Bakersfield community.

His special interests include preventive medicine, chronic disease management, urgent care, and geriatrics.

Dr. Huezo has made Bakersfield his home along with his wife and two boys. He also enjoys reading, listening to music and sports.
