Aurora Teresa Leon Conde, MD

Dr. Aurora Leon practices internal medicine at Monarca Health in Keene. Born in Mexico City and raised in northern Mexico, she completed medical school there. She then spent a year of social service as primary care physician for a community of 2,500 people, an experience that showed her how closely health ties to family and social life.

She went on to earn a two year master's degree in Systemic Family Therapy before moving to New York City in 2009 to continue training in Internal Medicine at St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital with Columbia University. She then spent five years at a Federally Qualified Health Center in Connecticut caring for an underserved population. Her approach today leans integrative, rooted in the belief that food can be the best medicine, and she serves on the board of the Physicians Committee for Responsible Medicine.

A yoga enthusiast and ultra marathon runner who also practices mindfulness, Dr. Leon joined the 2019 Nomads Clinic. It was a four week medical expedition into Nepal's Himalayas that brought care to more than 1,330 nomads in remote mountain regions.
