Kicki Searfus, MD

Board Certified Family Physician Kirsten 'Kicki' Searfus, MD provides comprehensive primary care from Pediatrics to Geriatrics in Durango, Colorado. "My passion is to provide highly personalized, clinically excellent health care while enlisting my patients as true partners in achieving their wellness goals."

Dr. Searfus is a Board Certified family physician who has practiced in Durango, CO since 2006. She moved from San Diego to live in a community that promoted active lifestyles and provided a healthy environment in which to raise her two sons. When she joined Mountain View Family HealthCare in 2012, she became part of the growing Direct Primary Care (DPC) movement where the focus is put back on the physician-patient partnership and away from insurance billing as the driver for how health care is delivered.

She loves being able to spend adequate time with patients to explore issues in depth at every visit and identify factors that impede the ability to achieve optimal health and wellbeing. Dr. Searfus also created Mountain View TLC, a collaborative model in which her primary care practice joins with specialists in nutrition, fitness and behavioral health under one roof to provide easy to access, effective tools for patients to achieve their wellness goals.

Dr. Searfus earned her undergraduate degree in Physiology at the University of California, Davis, obtained her medical degree from the University of California, San Francisco, completed her residency in Family Medicine at the University of Utah in Salt Lake City, and spent a decade in academic medicine at the University of California, San Diego. She holds an additional Certification in Hospice and Palliative Care Medicine, working for many years as the medical director of a local hospice.
