Kirsten Searfus, MD

Dr. Kirsten Searfus, known as Kicki, is a board certified family physician at Mountainview TLC in Durango, Colorado. She has practiced in Durango since 2006, after moving from San Diego to raise her two sons in a community built around active living and a healthy environment.

She joined Mountain View Family HealthCare in 2012 and became part of the Direct Primary Care movement, where the physician-patient partnership takes priority over insurance billing. What she values most is having enough time with each patient to dig into what stands between them and better health. That focus led her to build Mountainview TLC into a collaborative model bringing nutrition, fitness and behavioral health specialists together with primary care under one roof.

She trained at UC Davis, UCSF and the University of Utah, then spent a decade in academic medicine at UC San Diego. She later earned additional certification in hospice and palliative care and served as medical director of a local hospice.
