Susan Baumgaertel, MD

Susan Baumgaertel is an internal medicine physician and the founder of myMDadvocate in Seattle. Originally from Seattle, she grew up in Ontario, Canada, then returned to Washington, earning her undergraduate degree from the University of Washington and her medical degree from the UW School of Medicine.

She completed her residency in internal medicine at UW and served as chief resident at Swedish Medical Center before spending 1996 to 2021 in private practice. She also taught as a clinical assistant professor at UW, chaired committees on integrative medicine, technology, quality management, and peer review, and founded the weight management program Menu for Change and the MenopauseMenu website.

In 2022 she launched myMDadvocate, bringing 25 years of internal medicine experience to her work as a physician consultant, healthcare navigator, and medical advocate. She wrote the 2023 book The Menopause Menu and started the talk show Voices With Vigor in 2025.
