Dr. Sarah Zaheer is board certified in family medicine and lifestyle medicine and a Menopause Society Certified Practitioner at Oak Tree Primary Care in Columbia, Maryland. Her background spans urgent care centers, free clinics, academic institutions, federally qualified health centers and corporate clinics, and her work has been featured in National Geographic and quoted on NPR.
Born and raised in Pakistan, she attended Shifa College of Medicine in Islamabad. An away rotation at Emory in Atlanta showed her how central outpatient primary care doctors are to patient care. She completed her family medicine residency at the University of Oklahoma in Oklahoma City, then practiced in Texas for several years before moving to Maryland in 2018 to be closer to family.
A physician mom committed to addressing healthcare inequities, she often gets outside on the walking trails around Howard County and hosts a Walk with a Doc at Centennial Park on the first Saturday of every month.
