Justin Parkinson, DO

Dr. Justin Parkinson practices at Ohana Medical Care in Kuna. He spent more than a decade in an insurance-based practice before deciding that model made it difficult to give patients the kind of care he wanted while still keeping room for the rest of his life.

At one point he considered stepping away from patient care altogether, a hard call given how much he had invested in his patients, his own education, and his personal life. He turned toward other opportunities, including medical education, but kept looking for a way back to seeing patients directly.

Discovering direct primary care changed that. He sees it as a path back to the kind of hands-on patient care he set out to provide, with the balance he had been missing.
