Margaret Okonkwo, MD

Dr. Margaret Okonkwo is a board-certified pediatrician and Functional Medicine ADHD certified expert at Okonkwo Care Pediatrics in Miami. With more than twenty five years of experience, she practices evidence-informed, whole-child care built on long-term relationships with the families she treats.

Raised in Virginia Beach, Virginia, she studied at The College of William & Mary and earned her medical degree at VCU's Medical College of Virginia in Richmond. She completed her pediatric residency at the University of Miami, then worked as a house physician in cardiology at Jackson Memorial Hospital before spending years as a traveling pediatrician.

She went on to found Kidstown Pediatrics in Miami, where she practiced for sixteen years before closing it in 2020. During the pandemic she traveled to high-need communities across the country, including work supporting children in rural areas, before returning to Miami to open Okonkwo Care Pediatrics and pick up the continuity of care she had missed.
