Nazia Sheriff, MD

Dr. Nazia Sheriff is a pediatrician at Olive Leaf Pediatrics in Orinda. Originally from Chicago, she first knew she wanted to work with children back in high school, and that early pull toward pediatrics carried her through a BA in Psychology and her medical degree at the University of Illinois at Chicago. During her pediatrics training at Loyola Children's Hospital she earned grants for health education work with refugee children.

She spent the early part of her career as a pediatric hospitalist at a Chicago children's hospital, caring for newborns and sick children before moving into roles as Hospitalist Medical Director and Medical Student Director, where she helped build family-centered policies. A move to the Bay Area shifted her focus toward preventive, holistic pediatric care rooted in lifestyle medicine, with particular interest in breastfeeding medicine, nutrition, fitness, and socio-emotional and special needs support. She is pursuing her IBCLC, is an ACE-certified Youth Fitness instructor, and serves as medical advisor for the Cooking With Kids Foundation.

She moved to California with her husband and two young children, and outside of medicine she enjoys family hikes, reading, taekwondo, and traveling internationally.
