Thomas Anker, DO

Dr. Anker's practice is rooted in the belief that careful listening and clinical rigor are essential pairings in quality patient care. He is board-certified by the American Academy of Family Physicians and remains committed to diagnostic precision and excellence marked by years at the bedside, in the clinic, and across a wide range of medical settings. His approach integrates evidence-based lifestyle interventions with the judicious use of traditional pharmaceutical therapies, always aiming for the most effective and least invasive path to wellness.

His family medicine training spans hospital medicine, psychiatry, pediatrics, critical care, surgical and emergency rotations, and obstetrics—where he graduated having delivered over one hundred babies. He also completed clinical rotations in genetics at the UC Davis MIND Institute, and earlier, as a medical student, trained in pediatric genetics and emergency care at the Garrahan Hospital in Buenos Aires. In residency, his capacity for compassion and clarity earned him recognition for bedside manner, and later, recognition by the AAFP as a teacher to residents and medical students.

Dr. Anker holds a degree in Genetics from UC Davis, where he also contributed to autism research at the MIND Institute and SENSE Lab, exploring the therapeutic impact of theater on children with autism. He later pursued graduate studies in public health at Duquesne University in Pittsburgh, deepening his understanding of community health systems and preventive care. Outside the clinic, he serves the community in specialized roles—providing firefighter physicals and working ringside as a certified physician with USA Boxing, where safety and swift clinical judgment are paramount.

Today, Dr. Anker's work remains grounded in evidence and guided by a spirit of inquiry. His clinical practice increasingly leans into the careful, often complex work of diagnosis—especially in cases that resist easy answers.
