Jarrod Watson, FNP-C

Jarrod has been serving others in healthcare since the end of his enlistment with the U.S. Marines in 1999. He became an Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) in 1999, and became a Registered Nurse (RN) in 2003. He spent the majority of his nursing career as a charge nurse in the Emergency Department at Providence Medford Medical Center. Jarrod served as the interim manager of the ER during his last 18 months at Providence until he became a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) in 2012. He joined Providence Medical Group in Medford in 2013. Jarrod's natural leadership was quickly recognized by administrators and his physician peers alike, and in 2016 he became the first nurse practitioner to serve as a medical director of a Providence Medical Group primary care clinic, where he remained until resigning in December of 2023. Jarrod founded Patient First Direct Primary Care in 2024 due to his discontentment with the status quo of corporate primary care. During his tenure as the medical director, he became increasingly frustrated with how corporate bureaucracy and insurance companies stand in the way of delivering three core essentials that he believes every patient deserves: 1. Excellent access to their provider 2. Enough time with their provider to receive compassionate care that meets their unique needs, and 3. Exemplary customer service each and every time. Ultimately, Jarrod decided the only way to ensure his patients consistently received this degree of quality care, was to open his own clinic with a name that bears his vision: Patient First. Jarrod is certified as a Family Nurse Practitioner by the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners (AANP). As a third-generation veteran, he understands and appreciates the sacrifices of our military veterans and their families. He is also the father of children with special needs, so he has a special place in his heart for patients and families affected by disability. When not in the clinic, Jarrod enjoys time with his family, working on his property, and riding his Harley-Davidson.
