Nate Franley, MD

Nate Franley treats patients at Peak Performance Sports and Family Medicine in Erie, with training in sports medicine. He grew up in Jefferson, Ohio, in a family of healers. His father was a dentist, one grandfather an old-school doctor who delivered around 3,000 babies in the county, and the other a veterinarian. Their example is what drew him back to small-town medicine in the Fairview and Erie area.

Franley studied at the University of Toledo College of Medicine, where he found his passion for sports medicine. He then completed a family medicine residency at the Cleveland Clinic, followed by a sports medicine fellowship. That fellowship led to a seat on a committee evaluating medical fitness for Cleveland Indians draft prospects. It also brought work with the Cleveland Cavaliers' medical staff during their first finals run, and years as team physician for Baldwin Wallace College and several area high schools during his time at Ashtabula Regional Medical Center.

He and his wife, Brittney, settled in Fairview in 2020. Both enjoy golf and the outdoors, from running to mountain biking to skiing. They're raising three kids, Andrew, Vivian, and Christopher, who goes by CJ.
