Vanessa McDougall, FNP-C

Vanessa has been serving the people of Aroostook County since 2010 and opened Phoenix Direct Care in 2018.

With experience in primary care, urgent care, emergency medicine, pain management, and substance use treatment, she has cared for patients across every stage of life.

Her commitment is to relationships that last, knowing patients' histories, understanding their families, and helping them feel seen and heard.

From her early days in Van Buren with the National Health Service Corps to mentoring new Direct Primary Care practices, Vanessa has built her career on advocacy, access, and trust.

Outside the clinic, Vanessa enjoys life on her family farm with her husband of 28 years, their three children, and their dog Remi. Saturdays are often for barn chores, and Sundays are for family and church — reflecting the same values of consistency, care, and connection that guide her work.
