About Dr. Troy A. Burns

Dr. Troy A. Burns is the founder and medical director of ProPartners Healthcare in Leawood. He graduated from the University of Missouri-Kansas City School of Medicine in 1986 and completed an internal medicine internship at St. Luke's Hospital in Kansas City the following year.

Since 1987 he has focused on preventive medicine, corporate medicine, men's health, and urgent care, and has been a pioneer of the direct primary care model. In 1990 he founded The Diagnostic Center for Men, which grew into a network of 36 practices across 23 states. He established ProPartners Healthcare in 2001 as a primary care practice for men, then broadened it into family practice in 2013, making it one of the first 50 direct primary care practices in the country.

Dr. Burns serves on the steering committee of the Direct Primary Care Coalition and belongs to the Christian Medical and Dental Society. He is licensed to practice medicine in both Kansas and Missouri.
