Dr. Bacala was raised in an Air Force military family and considers Las Vegas his home. He is the author of the book 'How To NOT DIE (Before You Have To).' He earned his bachelor's degree in Health Physics/Comprehensive Medical Imaging from UNLV in 2006 and worked as an ultrasonographer before attending the American University of St. Maarten School of Medicine, graduating in 2011. He completed his Family Medicine residency at Beaumont Health in Michigan in 2015. He previously served as attending faculty and professor at Beaumont Health and as a medical director for a community urgent care in Metro Detroit. He currently serves as a Ring Physician for USA Boxing in Las Vegas. He lives with his wife Heather, their three children, and two dogs. His interests include reading, hiking, skim boarding, one-wheeling, and supporting the UNLV Runnin' Rebels and Vegas Golden Knights. Professional memberships include the American Medical Association, American Academy of Family Physicians (National and Nevada Chapter), and American Board of Family Medicine. Awards include Patients' Choice Award, Compassionate Doctor Award, and named to 2025 Top Doctors of America by Nationwide Registries.
