Tonya P. McDonald, MD

Tonya P. McDonald, known to patients as Dr. Tonya, is the pediatrician behind Radiance Pediatrics in Dallas. Dr. Tonya has practiced pediatrics for more than 20 years, caring for families across the Dallas-Fort Worth area and abroad.

Training began at Harvard Medical School, followed by a pediatrics residency at Texas Children's Hospital and Baylor College of Medicine, then a fellowship in adolescent medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center. Nearly a decade was spent in Germany caring for the children of U.S. military families, an experience that brought a global view of medicine and a real appreciation for how differently families raise their kids. Traditional pediatric practice started to feel limiting after returning to Dallas, which led to opening Radiance Pediatrics in 2019 with a different model built around longer visits, home care when needed, telemedicine, and direct access to Dr. Tonya. The approach rests on evidence-based medicine, careful listening, and genuine partnership with parents through every stage of childhood.

A native of Beaumont, Dr. Tonya enjoys building intricate LEGO sets, reading books that spark new ideas, and traveling to explore new places and cultures.
