Hi, I'm Dr. Tonya, founder of Radiance Pediatrics. I started this practice because I believe families deserve pediatric care that is personal, unrushed, and built on trust. For me, pediatrics isn't just about treating illness—it's about walking alongside families, helping parents feel confident, and creating the space for children to thrive from birth through young adulthood.
I've been a pediatrician for over 20 years, caring for families in the Dallas–Fort Worth area and abroad. My training began at Harvard Medical School, followed by a residency in pediatrics at Texas Children's Hospital/Baylor College of Medicine, and a fellowship in Adolescent Medicine at the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center.
Along the way, I spent nearly a decade in Germany caring for the children of U.S. military service members, an experience that gave me a global perspective on medicine and a deep appreciation for the diverse ways families nurture and raise their children.
When I returned to Dallas, I worked in traditional pediatric practices, but I soon realized the system wasn't designed for the kind of care families truly need. In 2019, I opened Radiance Pediatrics with a different vision: to give families longer visits, home care when it's needed, telemedicine for convenience, and direct access to me—without the barriers of an insurance-driven system.
I believe every stage of childhood brings unique joys and challenges. My role is to support parents through each one—whether it's a newborn learning to sleep, a toddler navigating big feelings, a school-aged child managing asthma or ADHD, or a teen figuring out their place in the world. My philosophy of care is simple: evidence-based medicine, thoughtful listening, and true partnership with families.
Outside of pediatrics, I'm a Texas girl at heart, originally from Beaumont. I love building intricate LEGO sets, reading books that spark new ideas, and traveling to explore new places and cultures.
