Zain Hakeem, DO

Dr. Zain Hakeem is a physician at River Rock Medical Clinic in Austin, trained through a dual residency in internal medicine and pediatrics.

Before medicine, he studied philosophy as an undergraduate, and that grounding in careful reasoning never left him. During training he noticed that much of modern medicine is built to manage disease once it appears rather than prevent or reverse it, and that clinical guidelines often project more certainty than the underlying evidence actually earns. His background in rigorous statistics, Bayesian epistemology, and the history of treatments that sounded promising but didn't hold up gave him a way to see where popular "advanced" wellness approaches simply don't add up.

That combination of philosophy and clinical training led him to found River Rock Medical, where he treats health not as an abstraction but as the mental and physical capacity to carry out a meaningful life.
