Neel Palakurthy, DO
Dr. Neel Palakurthy is a board-certified internal medicine physician at Santa Cruz Direct Primary Care in Santa Cruz, California. He grew up in Iowa and studied biology and biochemistry at Carleton College before earning his Doctor of Osteopathy degree at Touro University College of Osteopathic Medicine. His residency took him to Metrohealth Hospital's Case Western Reserve program in Cleveland, after which he and his family settled in Santa Cruz. Since 2018 he has practiced internal medicine within the Dignity Health system, with additional time at Dominican Hospital.
Palakurthy believes the body naturally moves toward health, and he sees a physician's role as helping patients build the habits that let it heal and regulate itself, with mind, body, and spirit all playing a part in that process.
He and his wife are raising two young children in Santa Cruz, and when he gets the chance he reaches for a good book, goes cycling or hiking, or catches a game.
