Sharma Atkinson-Staten, APRN, FNP-C

Sharma Atkinson-Staten is a board certified Family Nurse Practitioner at SharmaCare Direct Primary Care in Lake City, where she has practiced since 2014. Her clinical experience spans interventional cardiology, family practice, and pain management. Before that she spent twenty years as a registered nurse in labor and delivery, outpatient surgery, gynecology, high-risk obstetrics, and home health, and also worked as a certified childbirth educator.

She was born in Kentucky and moved to Lake City at age ten, graduating from CHS before earning her bachelor's degree between Brigham Young University and Rush University in Chicago. She went on to work as an RN in the Chicago area, Miami, West Palm Beach, and Jacksonville before completing her master's in nursing at the University of South Alabama.

Opening her own practice had been a longtime goal, and she looks forward to getting to know each patient and providing comprehensive, personalized primary care for the whole family.
