Frances Romero, MD

Frances Romero, MD, MSCP is a board-certified family physician and Menopause Society Certified Practitioner at Shine Direct Primary Care in Bonita Springs, where she focuses on women's primary care, menopause management, hormone therapy, preventive medicine, weight management, and chronic disease care.

Born and raised in Puerto Rico, Dr. Romero earned her medical degree from Universidad Central del Caribe and completed her Family Medicine residency at Lehigh Valley Health Network, where she served as co-chief resident. She provides bilingual care in English and Spanish, with a patient-centered approach shaped by her own cultural background.

After years in insurance-driven healthcare, she saw how often busy patients were shut out of consistent, affordable care by high deductibles and rushed visits. That frustration led her to Direct Primary Care, and in 2018 she opened Shine, offering membership-based care in Southwest Florida with longer visits and no copays or insurance barriers.

She's drawn to mentorship and women's health education, and she enjoys spending time with her big blended family.
