I'm Dr. Travis Simmons, a board-certified family physician with additional training in functional and integrative medicine. I practice primary care in New Braunfels, TX, where I've been caring for patients through the direct primary care model since 2022.
I was born in Texas, raised in northern New Mexico, and earned my biology degree at Texas A&M University. I went on to attend medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio, and from the very beginning, I knew I wanted to be a family doctor. I started Simmons Family Medicine because I believe primary care should be personal, accessible, and centered around you.
My approach blends conventional medical training with integrative and functional perspectives, allowing us to dig deeper into the root causes of illness and support long-term wellness—not just treat symptoms. I enjoy caring for patients across all stages of life, and I especially focus on preventive care and chronic condition management.
I regularly help patients with wellness visits, diabetes, obesity, hypertension, depression, anxiety, and hormonal changes like menopause and perimenopause. In fact, I'm proud to be the only Menopause Society Certified Practitioner in the New Braunfels area—bringing specialized, evidence-based support to women.
