Travis Simmons, MD

Travis Simmons is a board-certified family physician at Simmons Family Medicine in New Braunfels, with additional training in functional and integrative medicine. He has practiced direct primary care there since 2022.

Born in Texas and raised in northern New Mexico, he earned his biology degree at Texas A&M before attending medical school at UT Health Science Center in San Antonio. Family medicine was the goal from the start, and he opened his own practice on the belief that primary care should be personal, accessible, and built around the patient. His approach pairs conventional training with an integrative lens, looking for root causes rather than just treating symptoms.

He sees patients across all stages of life, with a focus on preventive care and chronic conditions like diabetes, obesity, hypertension, depression, and anxiety, along with hormonal changes such as perimenopause and menopause. He is the only Menopause Society Certified Practitioner in the New Braunfels area.
