Dr. Rob Rakowczyk

Dr. Rob Rakowczyk is a board-certified family medicine physician at Still Point Direct Primary Care in New Braunfels. Patients and colleagues know him simply as Dr. Rob.

Originally from Las Cruces, New Mexico, he studied chemical engineering and philosophy at New Mexico State University, then spent seven years as a nuclear-trained submarine officer in the Navy before turning to medicine. He earned his medical degree at Ohio State, where he was inducted into the Gold Humanism Honor Society, and completed his family medicine residency at UTMB Galveston, where he received the Jean Thompson Award for Most Compassionate Resident.

Integrative and mind-body medicine hold a special place in his practice. He trained in the University of Arizona's Integrative Medicine in Residency program, studied clinical hypnosis through the American Society for Clinical Hypnosis, and completed Jon Kabat-Zinn's mindfulness-based stress reduction program. He's known for a gentle, open manner and for listening closely before offering thoughtful advice. He and his college sweetheart, Amy, are raising three daughters together.
