Dr. Joel Bessmer, MD

Strada Healthcare was founded in 2016 by Dr. Joel Bessmer, a visionary in primary care who saw two critical issues affecting the healthcare industry: rushed appointments and physician burnout. Dr. Bessmer believes the existing healthcare model incentivizes treating illness over promoting wellness. As he often says, we live in a 'sick healthcare system,' where doctors are only compensated when patients are sick. Strada was created to counter this issue by removing the insurance-based constraints. The care model provides patients with unlimited access to their primary care providers without worrying about co-pays or deductibles, encouraging stronger, more proactive doctor-patient relationships.
