Bruce Jung, MD

Dr. Bruce Jung practices family medicine at The Doc Shoppe in Corbin, Kentucky. He studied biochemistry at the University of Illinois, earned his medical degree at the University of Chicago's Pritzker School of Medicine, and completed his residency with the University of Colorado's North Colorado Family Medicine program in Greeley.

After joining a Barbourville practice in 1991, he moved to Corbin in 1999 to help build a rural family medicine residency program with the University of Kentucky and Baptist Regional Medical Center. Along the way he served as a hospital chief of staff, a medical director, and a residency faculty member before co-founding Grace Community Health Center and eventually opening The Doc Shoppe in 2013. His interests include minor procedures, ultrasonography, and computerized records, and he says he loves taking care of kids.

Married to Melissa for over 36 years, he's a father of seven and grandfather of four who has traveled on medical mission trips to Mexico and Romania. When he's not working he enjoys woodworking, tinkering with cars, and rooting for the Chicago Cubs.
