Long waits, rushed visits, months to get an appointment, and decisions driven by insurance companies instead of physicians it was frustrating for patients and heartbreaking for me. I did my best to fight the system from within: I listened, advocated, and tried to give each patient the time and care they deserved. But the truth is, I was powerless. I began to wonder if I could keep doing this, if I could truly make a difference in people's lives within a system that made care so impersonal and inaccessible. So I took a leap.
