Chaylah Lomotey, MD, MPH

Chaylah Lomotey MD/MPH is a board certified family practice physician at Thrive Direct Primary Care in New Braunfels. Born in Connecticut, she spent much of her childhood in Texas, and that early split between the two states shaped a career she brought back home.

She earned her BS in Health Science at Eastern Nazarene College in Quincy, Massachusetts, then completed both her medical degree and a master's in public health at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine at the same time. Her residency was at Valley Baptist Family Practice in Harlingen, Texas. She went on to work as an immigration doctor and then at a rural family medicine clinic before settling into urgent care work in New Braunfels starting in 2013.

Her medical work has taken her well beyond Texas, including mission work in Romania, public health research in Haiti, and medical missions in Ghana. She homeschools her kids on her days off, and free time usually means her husband, her children, a walk outdoors, and her local church community.
