John Italiano, DO
Dr. John Italiano is a board-certified family medicine physician and founder of Thrive Family Health Direct Primary Care in Grand Rapids, Michigan. He built the practice around the osteopathic idea that health is more than the absence of disease, working to help patients thrive through prevention, lifestyle, and real connection. Stepping outside the insurance model lets him offer direct access, longer visits, and a deeper partnership with the people he treats.
Raised in Macomb, Michigan, Dr. John earned a chemistry degree at Michigan State University with a 4.0 GPA before attending Michigan State University College of Osteopathic Medicine. He completed his family medicine residency at Trinity Health Muskegon and is also board-certified in osteopathic manipulative treatment, a hands-on approach that supports the body's own healing. His clinical interests include preventive medicine, musculoskeletal health, mental well-being, and faith-based wellness.

A devoted Spartans fan, he spends his free time outdoors and staying active with his wife, and his faith shapes much of how he approaches both his life and his practice.
