Courtney Barrett, DO

Dr. Courtney Barrett is a board certified internal medicine physician at True Insight Direct Care in Raleigh, North Carolina. Before medical school she worked as a paramedic, and having been a patient herself, she often says she has seen healthcare from both sides of the stethoscope. She and her husband Jeff, whose own background is in volunteer firefighting and emergency telecommunications, launched True Insight together in 2025 to serve Raleigh, Wake Forest, and the surrounding community.

Drawn to preventive care and to working closely with patients, she focuses on meeting people where they are and celebrating progress along their health journey rather than just treating what comes up. She also serves as a board member for Hope & Vine, a Wake Forest nonprofit that provides mentorship and employment support to young women aging out of the foster care system.

At home, she and Jeff are raising their son Landon alongside six rescued dogs, two rescued cats, and a hamster named Waffles. When she gets away from it all, she likes to travel, garden, and spend time outdoors.
