Crystal Skinner, MD
Dr. Crystal Skinner is a board certified family medicine physician at Tushka Direct Primary Care in Tuscaloosa. A Tuscaloosa native, she attended the University of Alabama School of Medicine and completed her family medicine residency in the same city. She is a three time University of Alabama alum, having earned two bachelor's degrees and a master's degree there.
Dr. Skinner enjoys the full range of family medicine, from chronic disease management to acute care, but what drives her day to day is building real relationships with patients. She has seen how insurance driven medicine leaves little room for that, with time constraints and pressure to see more patients in less time. Direct Primary Care changes that equation, giving her the freedom to know patients personally and communicate openly.
She lives in Tuscaloosa with her husband, Daniel, and their three children, Ruth Ann, Nora Cate, and Lane. Much of their free time is spent at the softball field, cheering on the girls' travel ball team.
