I'm a first-generation immigrant. My father died when I was a young child, so my mother, sister, and I moved here from India in pursuit of a better life. Throughout my life, I worked diligently toward the path of traditional immigrant success – become a physician, get married, have children, build a successful medical practice, and care for as many patients as humanly possible – all while keeping the aforementioned balls in the air. Well, I did it. And I quickly found myself depleted practicing in the traditional medical model, with little left to give to my family or myself at the end of each day. So, now I'm onto the next chapter. I'm defining my own version of "The American Dream" and what it means to be a successful physician, mother, wife, and – most importantly – human. I hope you'll join me on this journey.
