Poorvi Pfenning, MD

Dr. Poorvi Pfenning is a physician at Vital Roots DPC in Newnan. She immigrated to the United States from India as a young child with her mother and sister, and for years she followed the path she had set for herself, becoming a physician, marrying, raising children, and building a busy medical practice.

Eventually she found herself running on empty within the traditional medical model, with little left over for her family or herself by the end of the day. That experience is what led her to direct primary care, where she is now writing her own definition of what it means to be a successful physician, mother, wife, and person.
