Jacob Peterson, MD

Dr. Jacob Peterson is a board-certified physician with the American Board of Family Medicine and the American Board of Obesity Medicine at Vitality Family Healthcare in Holdrege. He grew up in Atkinson, Nebraska and studied biology and neuroscience at Northwestern College before earning his medical degree and completing a combined internal medicine and family medicine residency at the University of Nebraska Medical Center in 2018.

He opened Vitality Family Healthcare in January 2023, building a patient-centered practice that weighs each person's physiology alongside their cultural, social, economic and spiritual values, with pricing kept transparent and affordable. His focus areas include preventive medicine, weight management, and longevity and anti-aging care, along with minimally invasive, ultrasound-guided procedures such as carpal tunnel surgery and musculoskeletal injections.

A woodworker and weekend renovator, he also hunts, fishes and cooks for the family he shares with his wife, Dr. Danika Peterson, his high school sweetheart, and their four children, Adeline, Leon, Emmelyn and Oliver.
