JD Steed, MD

Dr. J.D. Steed completed his medical school at Wake Forest University in 1999. He completed his Family Medicine Residency in 2002 at Florida Hospital in Orlando (now the Advent Health System). He served as a family medicine physician and clinic chief at Moody Air Force Base from 2002-2006. Dr. Steed moved to the local area in 2006 and had a wonderful time doing inpatient and outpatient medicine with the Family Doctors of Belleview. In 2012, The Family Doctors of Belleview was acquired by the Villages Health. After this transition, Dr. Steed served as the Medical Director of the Belleview location of the Villages Health. In 2017, ready to make a real change in medicine accessibility and affordability, Dr. Steed founded Walden Direct Primary Care and hasn't looked back. Married in 1997, Dr. Steed and Melissa Steed run Walden Direct Primary Care. She serves as his "boss" and office manager (at work and at home!). Melissa and Dr. Steed have been blessed with 4 children who always seem to be in 4 different schools. In his spare time, Dr. Steeed likes to do service projects for Jesus, coach basketball, and travel the world with Melissa.
