Oren Gersten, MD

Dr. Oren Gersten is a board certified family doctor at Winter Pine Direct Primary Care in Brunswick, Maine. He earned his medical degree at the University of Washington, known for training primary care doctors, then completed residency at Maine Medical Center in Portland, chosen for its reputation for producing well rounded family doctors. During residency he also completed an extra 200 hour integrative medicine curriculum, training that looks at the whole person and draws on complementary approaches alongside traditional western medicine.

He founded Portland Direct Primary Care in 2018, built around the idea that strong communication between doctor and patient leads to real understanding and the power to change lives for the better. In 2026 he moved the practice to Brunswick and renamed it Winter Pine Direct Primary Care.

Raised in the Rocky Mountains of Montana and Wyoming, Gersten grew up with a deep love of the outdoors, a pull that eventually brought him east to Maine.
