Alison Iser, MD

Dr. Alison Iser is a family medicine physician at Wiser Primary Care in Lexington. She was drawn to family medicine because it touches every discipline and treats each patient as a whole person within their community rather than a set of organ systems. Over twenty years she has practiced in academic, hospital-based, occupational and travel medicine, integrative medicine, and veterans' health settings, including a decade at a university clinic in downtown Lexington.

Watching patients, friends, and family struggle for consistent access to a doctor left her disillusioned with corporate medicine, and Direct Primary Care gave her a way to practice medicine the way she'd always imagined. She makes time to truly listen, collaborate with patients, and find solutions suited to each person, favoring lifestyle change over a pill for every problem. Her care stays evidence-based while open to integrative and holistic approaches, and she strives to be a down to earth, non-judgmental, fierce advocate for her patients.
